The Shot is an online photography magazine that was set up in 2009 and the first issue was published in 2010. The concept I devised was to showcase five different photographers with five pieces and a maximum of 500 words to describe themselves and their work. We have published 7 issues and have a constantly updated 'Daily Shot' section where we feature a different photographer every day.

I had the idea for the Shot after a reading a feature article of an Irish photographer. Tired of the same old hyperbole featured in the article, I hit upon the thought that people want just to see the photography in the most simplest and direct way, and doing this online seemed like the ideal solution. Once this was galvanised in my mind, the name and the format was quickly established.
